Le Réseau Parkinson Canadien Ouvert (RPCO) sera lancé au mois de mars 2020 et comportera :
- un répertoire de patients avec des renseignements cliniques exhaustifs ;
- une base de données regroupant des informations diagnostiques (examens d’imagerie, IRM, TEP), anatomiques (neuroimagerie, sommeil, comportement et neuropsychologie) et des mesures fonctionnelles ;
- une biobanque d’échantillons provenant de patients, comme des échantillons de sang et de l’ADN pour les études génétiques.

Canadian Guideline for Parkinson Disease 2nd Edition
The Canadian Medical Association Journal reported that the Guideline made it into the Top 25 articles of 2019 and finished 6th overall with 17,209 views on their site last year. It is also in 11th place as the top article of all time!
- The guideline includes 97 recommendations based on the best published evidence in five sections to guide healthcare professionals in clinical practice:
- Communication (including families and caregivers)
- Diagnosis and progression
- Treatment
- Non-motor features
- Palliative care

Parkinson’s Revolution — first ever held in February 2020 !
Parkinson’s Revolution is an indoor cycling experience that combines passion, determination and community to fuel a better life for Canadians living with Parkinson’s today; a world without Parkinson’s tomorrow. The event took place February 8 and 9, 2020 in several spin locations – Bedford, Halifax, Hamilton, Moncton, Montreal, Oakville, Ottawa, and 2 locations in Toronto.

Featuring keynote speaker Dr. A. Jon Stoessl, UBC, Neurologist Researcher, this full-day event included an introduction to the new Canadian Open Parkinson Network (C-OPN), presentations by Parkinson Canada researchers; sessions on advocacy and education by Parkinson Canada staff and volunteers.
Dr. A. Jon Stoessl is professor, Head of Neurology and co-director of the Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health at the University of British Columbia. He holds a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Parkinson’s, is deputy editor of the journal Movement Disorders and sits on numerous other editorial boards, including Lancet Neurology. He is president of the World Parkinson Coalition, a member of the Order of Canada and a fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences. He has 14,000 citations and has published more than 300 papers and book chapters.
